UFC on Versus 3: Munoz scores a huge KO against Dolloway

UFC on Versus 3: Munoz scores a huge KO against Dolloway

Mark Munoz and C.B. Dolloway were decorated collegiate wrestlers, but they said during the prefight interview that they were willing to slug it out. Maybe Dolloway should've stuck to the grappling.

He scored a takedown early, let Munoz get up and then got blasted by a straight right. Dolloway fell to his back and got nailed by two more hammerfists. Referee Mario Yamasaki had to jump into save the downed fighter just 54 seconds in.

Dolloway regained his senses a few seconds later and couldn't understand why the fight was stopped, but it was clear his eyes were glassy and he looked lost on the ground after the two hammerfists.

Munoz has been very good since his move to middleweight in 2009 with five wins against just one loss. The Oklahoma State All-American and national champ in 2001 is now 10-2 in his MMA career.

Second 'Water For Elephants' Trailer Debuts: 3 Grand New Things

Second 'Water For Elephants' Trailer Debuts: 3 Grand New Things

There's nothing more disappointing than looking forward to a new trailer for a highly anticipated release, only for it to be a cleverly re-packaged version of the first with nary a new scene in sight. Well, "Water for Elephants" director Francis Lawrence got it right with this one, because it almost felt like I was watching clips from an entirely different movie (in a totally good way).

Sure, Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz were all there just like before, but this second trailer revealed a whole new perspective of Sara Gruen's best-selling novel that I totally enjoyed. Let's count all the exciting new things after the jump!

1. Jacob Jankowski's back story unfolds
Whereas the first trailer began with Jacob's (Robert) arrival at the Benzini Brothers show, this one goes back even further to the events that led him to join the big top. We see the veterinary student sit for an exam until he's interrupted by an official with tragic news—his parents were killed in a car accident. It's then that Jacob drops out of school and hops a train bound for his destiny.

2. Marlena and Jacob kiss!
Commence the fits of fangirl giggles! It's only a quick one- or two-second flash on screen, but we definitely spied a make out session between Reese's Marlena and Jacob. We knew it would only be a matter of time before those longing glances from the initial trailer we're fulfilled. (We just wish we had been on the receiving end instead of Reese!)

3. The tone is much darker
Kissing another man's wife tends to have consequences, and for Jacob, it's a beat-down from Marlena's husband August (Christoph). It's just one of several scenes—including the circus catastrophe hinted at in the first trailer—that gives this second trailer a decidedly darker tone. While the joy and whimsy of the circus—tinkly music and all—were the focus last time, the tension and conflict inside the tent take center stage now.

(As a final, brief aside, we'd like to thank Francis for giving Robert more than two lines in this trailer!)

"Water for Elephants" hits theaters April 22.

Former major leaguer Elijah Dukes in more legal trouble

Former major leaguer Elijah Dukes in more legal trouble

Former major league outfielder Elijah Dukes, who recently made headlines by telling the Tampa Tribune that he sometimes smoked marijuana before home games while he was with the Washington Nationals, is in hot water again.

The St. Petersburg Times reports Dukes, 26, was arrested Wednesday and accused of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman.

During his three-season major league career, which ended in 2009, Dukes was better known for his off-field problems than his on-field prowess.

He hit .242 with 31 homers and 123 RBIs with the Tampa Bay Rays and Nationals, but was arrested for contempt of court and failure to pay child support and alimony. According to the St. Petersburg Times, Dukes owed three women a total of $143,000 in child support and alimony. He also had run-ins with teammates and coaches during his baseball career.

The newspaper adds that at the time of his arrest Wednesday, Dukes was wanted on warrant for contempt of court. He also faces accusations of driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Mickey Rooney: Elder Abuse Made Me Feel Trapped

Mickey Rooney: Elder Abuse Made Me Feel Trapped

Former MGM leading man Mickey Rooney, at one time the biggest box-office name in the country, appeared before a new audience Wednesday: the United States Congress.

The 90-year-old – whose on-screen problems were always easily resolved when he played all-American boy Andy Hardy – told a Senate hearing of a real-life drama involving elder abuse, and he spoke from his personal case history, he said.

"I felt trapped, scared, used and frustrated," testified Rooney, who also said he and his (ninth) wife Jan were made to go hungry, had medicine withheld and that his Oscar was even sold off. "But above all, when a man feels helpless, it's terrible," said the screen legend.

According to a court case in Los Angeles, Rooney has accused his stepson, Chris Aber, of elder abuse, and has obtained a restraining order against him. Aber denies Rooney's claims, as does Jan Rooney, say news reports.

Still, Rooney is shedding some much-needed light on a genuine problem. According to , The Washington Post Sen. Herb Kohl, (D-Wis.), who chairs the Special Senate Committee on Aging, considers the nation's elderly particularly vulnerable given their fragile state and the fact that those abusing them rarely fall under scrutiny.

Furthermore, according to the American Psychological Association, an estimated 2.1 million older Americans annually become victims to physical, psychological, sexual, financial, or other forms of abuse and neglect.

Whitney Houston, Daughter Bobbi Kristina Photographed Doing Cocaine!

Whitney Houston, Daughter Bobbi Kristina Photographed Doing Cocaine!

Socking news! According to The National Enquirer, Whitney Houston and her daughter with Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina were photographed doing cocaine. Hello Beautiful has photos proving the issue.

The singer is well known for her drugs problems. In 2006, The National Enquirer released a photo of her room complete with a crack pipe and drug paraphernalia.

In 2009 though, Whitney told Oprah that she was sober, adding that she took Bobbi Kristina with her to an "Atlanta drug rehab for mothers and children". Last year, Whitney had an erratic behavior on her tour and there were rumors claiming she was still using drugs.
As for 17-year-old Bobbi Kristina, she must have been very affected by her parents' addictions. In 2008, she attempted to stab Whitney. Then she tried to slit her wrists and she was put under observation in a hospital in Atlanta. In 2009, she was photographed with a semi automatic gun, which is illegal for a girl of her age. So it doesn't come as a surprise the fact that she's snorting cocaine. This is what she saw her parents doing.

Rodney King Anniversary: 20 Years Later, LAPD Adjusts To Life In The Youtube Age

It was shortly after midnight, 20 years ago Thursday, when George Holliday awoke to the sounds of police sirens outside his Lake View Terrace apartment. Grabbing his clunky Sony Handycam, he stepped out on his balcony and changed the Los Angeles Police Department forever.

The nine minutes of grainy video footage he captured of Los Angeles police beating Rodney King helped to spur dramatic reforms in a department that many felt operated with impunity. The video played a central role in the criminal trial of four officers, whose not-guilty verdicts in 1992 triggered days of rioting in Los Angeles in which more than 50 people died.

Brandon Davies suspended by BYU after admitting sex with girlfriend, breaking honor code

Brandon Davies suspended by BYU after admitting sex with girlfriend, breaking honor code: report

Brigham Young University basketball star Brandon Davies has been suspended from the team for the rest of the season for the most personal of fouls: He had sex with his girlfriend, breaking the Mormon's school's honor code.

Davies admitted to the school that he violated the school's ban on premarital sex on Monday, sources close to the team told the Salt Lake Tribune.

The Cougars, ranked third in the nation, were stunned by the news of the 6-foot-9 forward's dismissal.

"It was a surprise to everyone," coach Dave Rose said. Asked if thought Davies would play again, the coach said, "Yeah, I do."

One of the sources told the paper Davies was "extremely remorseful, heartbroken."

The school announced on Wednesday that Davies was suspended, only saying his violation was not anything criminal.

"Everybody who comes to BYU, every student if they're an athlete or not an athlete, they make a commitment when they come," Rose said. "A lot of people try to judge if this is right or wrong, but it's a commitment they make. It's not about right or wrong. It's about commitment."

BYU's honor code bans students from drinking alcohol and coffee. Students are also expected to be honest and regularly attend church services.

The team's best player, Jimmer Fredette said recounted Davies' apology.

"He told us everything. He told us he was sorry and that he let us down," Fredette said.

Following BYU's crushing 82-64 loss to Fredette tried to remain positive.

"(Davies) was like a brother to us, family. It's tough to lose a guy like that and pull together. I think we'll be all right."

Report says relationship with Deron Williams led to Sloan's departure

Report says relationship with Deron Williams led to Sloan's departure

Utah Jazz management insisted Thursday that Jerry Sloan was not nudged out the door, and Sloan himself said fatigue was a key factor in his decision to resign, but an Internet report suggested it was the former coach’s deteriorating relationship with star point guard Deron Williams that led to his departure.

"Nobody pushed Jerry or (lead assistant) Phil (Johnson) out,” Jazz owner Gregg Miller said at a press conference announcing Sloan’s resignation. “No players pushed him out, (GM) Kevin (O’Connor) didn’t push him out, an aspiring head coach didn’t push him out and I certainly didn’t push him out.” Miller said that management tried to persuade Sloan to stay.

"You only have so much energy left," Sloan said, "and my energy level has dropped off a little bit."

Yahoo! Sports, however, reported that Sloan and Williams have clashed all season long, and Sloan felt ownership was taking the player’s side. The discord between Sloan and Williams came to a head during halftime of the Jazz’s loss at home to Chicago on Wednesday night, and Sloan made his decision to resign then, according to the report.

Customer Review
A Perfect Machine., November 16, 2006
By SLP (Elk Grove, CA United States)

I'd planned to get the small Dyson, but the reviews of this vacuum persuaded me to give it a try. It's absolutely excellent. It's the best handheld vacuum I've ever tried, and I've thrown more of these things away than I can remember. Fortunately, I've always saved the attachments. Sometimes they fit another model, sometimes they don't. Since there's no fancy coupling required to attach tools to the hose end of this one, its just friction, most fit it.

This is a solid, powerful vacuum. The filter is heavy-duty and seems very durable. It's easily removed and reattached. I use those over-priced compressed air duster cans to blow all the dust and dog hair off of the filter. Between this and my full-size Dyson, there's probably more of the family dog outside the house than in by now. As for the weight of this machine, it is a little heavy, but then I only have to support its weight when doing vertical surfaces or carrying it around. When it's vacuuming stairs and furniture, I let the horizontal surfaces support most of the weight.

Everything about this machine suggests its maker really put a lot of thought and effort into making an absolutely excellent product. And, I commend them for packaging it in protective plastic that can be easily removed without knives, pliers, bolt cutters, or a chain saw. The engineering on this one was obviously thoughtful and thorough.

Univision Deportes
NEW YORK (AP) — ESPN has acquired U.S. broadcast rights to soccer's European Championship in 2012 and 2016 and will televise every game of both tournaments.

The Union of European Football Associations planned to make the announcement Tuesday.

"Euro is a perfect counterbalance to World Cup, so strategically it makes sense for us," Scott Guglielmino, ESPN's senior vice president for programming, said during a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "The passion involved in national team play at the highest level is something that's incredibly powerful, unlike anything else."

ESPN purchased U.S. broadcast and Internet rights in all languages. The network televised the 2008 Euros and has U.S. English-language rights to its sixth consecutive World Cup in 2014.

Plans include broadcasting Euro matches on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3.com, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Radio and ESPN Mobile.

Bosnia Vs Mexico: Bosnia Vs Mexico Info You Need To Know Bleacher Report

All of the zesty info you want and need to know about

Bosnia vs Mexico.

Bosnia- Herzegovina will be fighting against Mexico and these teams are looking to spice up the Georgia Dome, Atlanta will be Hotlanta once again.

Unfortunately, that will not happen.

This isn’t even remotely close to being a hot match. It’s a rather poor match up to throw at fans in the States, or even soccer fans in general, despite a few storylines heading into this match.

Unfortunately for Bosnia, passport issues have prevented them from filling their best team.

This gives Mexico hope for a win, but not for the fans tuning in to the match.
